More research on China's one child policy. USCR: Articles: China's One-Child Policy
My wife asked me to do some research on China's One-Child Policy for our daughters Lifebook.

Interesting to read in this article that the spoiling of the only children was considered and thought that it would not happen. I have heard anectodal evidence that the spoiling is happening. Maybe I can find some statistical evidence to support or refute this.

I am making progress on finishing the Medieval Machine, on the last chapter now. Have started the Templars history as well but not very far into that one.

I am a sucker for the Barnes and Noble discount book shelves. The other day I picked up Ideas of the Great Philosophers, Classical Islam, and The Bad Popes. I'll be reading those after I finish up with the history of the Templars.

Went to a very geeky bachelor party two Saturdays ago. The entirety of the bachelor party was a netfest. We played Rise of Nations and had Mexican food from El Metate (a Mexican deli/grocery store, excellent chile verde). We finished up the second game at 1AM and I started packing up my computer. Then someone said "I'm up for another game, anybody else?". The groom to be followed this up with "Unless the Old Guys are ready to call it a night". Well being one of the said "Old Guys" I had to of course stay and play another round - Assassin this time.

Worked on the patio some more, most of the cracks are filled in with DG. Will have to take another look today to see what more needs to be done.

Started to write an application in C# Builder this week. So far so good, will see how it turns out.

Frosty is level 47 and climbing. The new nuke at 47 is a godsend, I can go back to soloing now. Will have to decide if Buffyfrog my buff bot is going to level past 35 yet, I'm resisting it because I want her available for use in Caledonia.

The Medieval Machine book is interesting so far. Learning a bit about water powered mills in the 12th and 13th centuries and how they changed agriculture and industry. Also noteworthy is some of the comments about how environmentally unfriendly the period was. Seems that quite a bit of deforestation went on as well as air and water pollution.

Haven't had more of a chance to read the Templar book.
